Reception Closure From Thursday 19th March – Staff Shortage
Daniel Marsh

Oasis Academy Woodview will close its Reception class from Thursday 19th March until further notice, due to a shortage of staff caused by the Coronavirus outbreak.

This does not affect children in Year 1 to Year 6 whose lessons will continue as normal. All Reception children will need to remain at home.

For all children in Reception, Class teachers will provide packs of work so that they can continue to learn at home, and these will be distributed to children today.

The well-being of our pupils, staff and the wider academy community is our highest priority. The decision to close is not due to any confirmed cases within the Academy, but a shortage of teachers. We will use the opportunity tomorrow to undertake a thorough clean of the Reception unit.

We are aware of the inconvenience that this will cause many of you, for which we apologise. The simple fact is, if we do not have a sufficient number of staff, we are not able to open the full school.

We are at this stage unable to confirm when we will be able to reopen for Reception children. The Academy will maintain contact with you, and provide updates as soon as this situation changes. Please also check the academy website for news.

Thank you for your support and understanding on this issue.

Yours sincerely

Emma Johnson - Executive Principal
